Movsar Evloev is a machine. The undefeated UFC featherweight contender, set to face Aaron Pico on July 26, 2025, in Abu Dhabi, left fans speechless with his insane workout routine. In a resurfaced clip from four years ago, shared by Home of Fight on X, Evloev described doing 1500 push-ups in one hour as part of his weekly training. Some fans hailed his work ethic, while others questioned if it’s even possible.

Evloev’s Wild Workout

Evloev broke it down simply.

“I do it in exactly one hour, it’s part of my weekly training,” he told Ushatayka. “The method comes from [boxer] Kostya Tszyu, it originally required 1,000 push-ups in one session. But I’ve done it so often, I pushed it to 1500.” He added, “The only breaks I get are when I’m jumping rope. One hour, 1500 push-ups, and a ton of time on the rope.” via

That’s 25 push-ups per minute, with jump rope as his only rest, a routine inspired by the former light welterweight boxing champ.

Born in Sunzha, Ingushetia, Russia, on February 11, 1994, Evloev started wrestling at 15 and went pro in MMA in 2014. He dominated as M-1 Global bantamweight champ, going 8-0 before joining UFC in 2019. With a 19-0 record, including 9-0 in UFC, he’s beaten Diego Lopes, Arnold Allen, Dan Ige, and Aljamain Sterling, his latest win at UFC 310 in December 2024. Known for his relentless wrestling and cardio, Evloev’s never been finished, though his decision-heavy style has drawn criticism for lacking knockouts. He trains at American Top Team in Florida, chasing a featherweight title shot.

Evloev’s workout has people talking, with some calling it unreal and others doubting his form. Jorge Masvidal, in a Red Corner MMA interview, praised Evloev’s pressure, predicting he’ll be champ. Despite a nine-fight UFC win streak, Evloev’s been overlooked for a title shot, with Yair Rodriguez rumored to face champ Alexander Volkanovski next. UFC CEO Dana White told Evloev a strong win over Pico in the UFC Abu Dhabi co-main event could lock in his chance at the belt. His insane conditioning might tip the scales.
