Mousasi says from now on he will focus on being a boring fighter

Dream is on right now as I type this out and for some strange reason no one in the entire MMA galaxy within the Twitterverse seems to be able to find a stream for the event. It’s also gloomy and rainy outside and there’s no coffee in my cabinets. I’m just going to go back to bed and assume this was all a really horrible nightmare. Not being able to watch entertaining MMA on this Saturday is really a let down.

It seems Gegard Mousasi is a bit down about the entertainment value in fights himself. Although, he doesn’t have to worry about not seeing DREAM today because he is there fighting at the event against Izumi. Mousasi told USA Today recently how he feels about MMA losing it’s entertaining fight value:

“I’m going to run around a little bit and make my points, and then win the fight. Otherwise, the other guy will take me down and just hold me there and win the fight. That’s what’s happening to MMA now. They only want to take you down and just control you so they can win the decision fights.”

“After the Keith Jardine fight, I think, ‘OK, even the stand-up guys want to take me down now, So I’m going to just focus on that. Every fight, I’m going to be a boring fighter, that’s what I’m going to do. I’m just going to worry about the takedown defense, and I’m going to win my fights.”

I was going to express what a letdown this is to read but according to a tweet from Dan Herbertson in Japan-Mousasi must have just been kidding about all of that being a boring fighter stuff:

Wow, now I am really depressed I didn’t get to watch DREAM this morning. [source]
