Get hype? Yes, hype gotten. With each passing day the hype train turns from one of the shitty American locomotives into one of those awesome bullet trains that the rest of the world has on tap. But this isn’t an article about our infrastructure, this is about the leadup to UFC 189, and I’m starting to get over Jose Aldo not being involved. Of course, I would prefer Jose versus Conor McGregor to be the main event, but Chad Mendes is a fine replacement, and I’m excited for Conor to finally face a wrestler before going at Jose. I’m not so excited for a potential third fight between Chad an Jose even if the first two battles have been great. Oh yeah, and while I’m at it, I don’t like the interim title being dusted off (or created) for this match. But oh well.’
Still – hype. It’s here, I feel it, and most of all It will be nice to see Rory MacDonald and Robbie Lawler back and fighting. Just a few more days…
