One MMA fighter pulled off what may be Submission Of The Year via a flying triangle.

MMA Fighter Secures Flying Triangle

MMA fighter Zach Fry pulled off a ridiculous submission at UK Fighting Championships 20 recently against opponent Alex Gil.

The amateur matchup took place in the bantamweight division with each fighter looking to bounce back from a recent loss.

As the fight begun, Fry went right in for a takedown attempt on Gil against the cage, but was unsuccessful.

He then switched up to a flying knee attempt that turned into a flying triangle lock. Fry managed to get Gil down to the canvas and secure the choke.

Gil tried to fight out of it, but ultimately submitted. Check it out here:

This was quite the bounce back for Fry, who suffered a submission loss of his own via D’arce choke to Charlie Boulton back in May at UK Fighting Championships 19.

All but one of Fry’s amateur fights have taken place under the UK Fighting Championships banner. As for Gil, he has now lost six fights straight.

His last victory came against Remy Ferreira at Soko Fighting Championship 1 in May of last year.

It was quite the night for submissions, as the UK Fighting Championships 20 main event saw lightweight Connor Hughes submit Jocimar Ferreira in the first round.

While there have certainly been some great submissions thus far this year, this one certainly sits atop the rest.
