MMA and kickboxing legend Mirko Cro Cop would meet fellow former UFC fighter Roy Nelson at Bellator 200 in London on May 25. The contest serves as a rematch of the pair’s October 2011 showdown at UFC 137, which Roy Nelson won via third-round TKO.
Ahead of their bout Roy Nelson ‘Big Country’ told MMAJunkie, where he suspects that “Cro Cop” might be on performance-enhancing drugs.
“I think Cro Cop’s definitely always improving with age, but I think he’s back on the special supplements, better supplements than usual,” Nelson said. “Throughout my whole fight career, the only reason people want to fight me or have a chance to beat me, is if they get something. It’s something I just know that everybody is just on it. It’s one of those things where it’s an uphill battle. If you can help prevent it, cool. But at the end of the day I just go out there and fight whoever they want me to fight.”
Cro Cop, 43, comes to Bellator on an impressive eight-fight winning streak. Last year he fought just once a New Year’s Eve TKO win over Japanese veteran Tsuyoshi Kohsaka at Rizin FF 9. Mirko Cro Cop injected HGH to repair shoulder injury in an attempt to stay in a fight with Anthony Hamilton back in 2015, and USADA provisionally suspended Cro Cop for a violation of the UFC’s anti-doping policy.
Mirko Filipovic gets annoyed by his next opponent’s comments and posted a seething reply on his Facebook page in response to the “fat disrespectful” Nelson’s PED accusation:

“Dear Roy Nelson, you dont have to worry that i’m using any ‘special supplements’ as you claim.the only ‘special supplements’ i’m using is 2 hard and bloody trainings per day, five days a week.and i will be tested, like all others, during preparations for the fight and before and right after the fight.so you can be calm.and start thinking of some good excuse after i beat up your fat disrespectful ass,you have enough time to may 25.and do me a favour please, and shave that disgusting beard, look like professional fighter and show respect to your opponent.good luck!”
Meanwhile, Roy Nelson is coming off a loss to Matt Mitrione in the first round of Bellator’s heavyweight Grand Prix last month.
The outspoken former TUF winner and IFL Heavyweight Champion Nelson is against the use of banned substances in the past.
What do you think of this back and forth barbs between the two fighters?
