Minowaman vs. Alexander Schlemenko, Super Fight League 2 just got even more awesome

Since the first Super Fight League event, I’ve had their theme song stuck in my head. Maybe I should change my alarm tone. Anyway, the debut event from the Indian promotion surprised quite a few people by being very entertaining despite the lack of notable names. Instead we saw an unbeaten female lose in possibly the best fight of the event, India vs Sri Lanka grudge fights and James Thomson’s new special weapon which tears hamstrings. We already know the folks over at SFL are looking to turn the excitement up past eleven on their imaginary excitement dial but the match-ups just announced for SFL 2 triggered a Pavlovian response in me, namely jumping out of my seat, punching the air and screaming unintelligibly.

We already told you about Neil Grove vs Todd Duffee, that one’s a given. A further two bouts have been announced this morning; Paul Kelly vs Gabe Reutiger and Alexander Shlemenko vs Minowaman. It doesn’t matter if it was already on the table, we’re taking full credit for the inclusion of Ikuhisa Minowa in Super Fight League after it was suggested to Ken Pavia in this interview. The addition of Bellator season 5 finalist Shlemenko is icing on the cake. The proverbial cake of course. If it was a literal cake, he’d probably spinning back fist it. Paul Kelly vs Gabe Reutiger was supposed to go down at UFC 123 but due to a groin injury, Gabe was forced to pull out. This and the rest of the fights will take place on April 7th in Chandigarh, India and free on YouTube.com/SFL.
