Platinum Mike Perry suffered one of the most gruesome nose breaks in MMA history last night at UFC Uraguay.
Tough night at the office. The good news is that Platinum Mike Perry picked up an extra 50k for his participation in the fight of the night. The very bad news is that Perry’s nose looked like the letter “C.”
That …. may just be a broken nose. #UFCUruguay pic.twitter.com/ocHv2EP3mU

Immediately after the fight, Perry was transferred to the hospital stating that he was having problems breathing. Ariel Helwani (ESPN) reported that via Perry’s manager, Abraham Kawa, the surgery was lengthy due to previous issues with the platinum snout.
Mike Perry underwent successful nose surgery in Uruguay early this AM, per his mgr Abraham Kawa. Kawa said he had some previous fractures in his nose that had to be taken care, as well, so the surgery was a bit lengthy. He’s expected to remain there for at least a couple days.

The break came from the damage suffered from the hands of his opponent, Vincente Luque. The action was back and forth as both men unmistakably chose to stand and bang. Both fighters usually take the approach of not wasting time and getting straight to the action.
Unfortunately for Perry, moments after he flipped off the Uruguayan crowd in a clinch against the cage, Luque flipped Perry’s nose upside down with a crushing knee. Perry then used the blow to his advantage to secure a takedown but by that point, the destruction was already done.
Evidence of the injury was present as Perry was leaking “platinum” all over Luque’s abdomen as he secured a guillotine choke.
What did the Platinum Princess have to say?
It seems like she was proud of her man’s efforts despite the horrid injury. Later on the night via Instagram, she shared a video of herself being swept off of her feet with a kiss before the battle.

The caption for the aftermath declared, ”Words cannot explain how proud of you I am,” she wrote. “No matter what the outcome is I will always be in your corner. This sport is the most unforgiving and brutal. We have always said we need to make a shirt that says ‘You get f**ked up doing this s**t!!’ Because that is the truth. Growth is what we strive for though and you have grown so much over this short almost 3-year span in the UFC.”
”Thank you to everyone sending positivity, love, prayers, and good vibes our way.”
Some of the hashtags featured in the statement were #StillTheMostHandsome and #InSicknessAndInHealth. It’s safe to say that the Platinum Princess is definitely
“ride or die.”
Thankfully, Platinum Mike Perry was able to straighten out his nose. As for what is next, assumptions could be made that the now 6-5 UFC fighter needs to also straighten out his career. What did you think of the injury? Fans have been vocal in their eagerness for a matchup vs veteran brawler Robbie Lawler next. Is it in the cards? Perhaps Mickey Gall?
