Mike Perry is not promising a UFC comeback, but he is not ruling one out either. With a major fight already booked for May, Perry made it clear that a return to the Octagon is still possible.
When asked by Jon Anik about going back to the UFC, Perry said, “I would definitely say never say never.”
Perry’s next fight is set for May 16, when he faces Nate Diaz in an MMA bout at MVP MMA 1 on Netflix. It is one of the highest-profile fights of his post-UFC run and puts him back in front of a much bigger audience than usual, something already reflected in the way that booking has been covered as one of the centerpiece matchups on the card.
He also made clear that he is not looking too far ahead while that fight is still in front of him.
Perry said, “I’ve seen things, but I don’t want to talk too soon because I have to focus on the task at hand. I think I just demolish this… and you see the best Platinum Mike Perry — in the ring, Octagon — sorry, Hexagon. MVP puts on a good show, and I’m excited to showcase what I could when I do go back.”
Perry has built his own lane outside the UFC
Since leaving the UFC in 2021, Perry has built himself into one of the most recognizable names in BKFC and stayed visible through crossover fights, including his boxing match with Jake Paul.
A comeback would look different now than it would have a few years ago. Perry is heading into another big event, still carrying his own name value, and leaving the UFC door open while he does it.
