Mike Perry has finally answered the quiet stretch that followed his rough Duel Arena 1 loss to Brandon Jenkins. Perry posted a health-focused statement on Monday after his Orlando main event ended with a first-round shoulder injury and stoppage.
Perry’s full statement is below.
Health is wealth. The MMA lifestyle taking care of the body, mind and spirit. The gym helps the process of growing your strength, but strength is needed in other areas of life and should be exercised Everywhere we go. Organize, be consistent, more recovery and stretching. Taking

“Health is wealth. The MMA lifestyle taking care of the body, mind and spirit. The gym helps the process of growing your strength, but strength is needed in other areas of life and should be exercised Everywhere we go. Organize, be consistent, more recovery and stretching. Taking knowledge into my future endeavors. More to work for, more work to do.”
The message did not include a return date or a detailed medical update. It did make clear that Perry is treating the loss as a reset around training, recovery, and the parts of fight preparation that do not always show up on camera.
Perry Points To Recovery After Duel Arena Setback
The fight unraveled fast for Perry at Kia Center in Orlando. Jenkins stepped in after Dillon Danis withdrew from the original matchup, then capitalized when Perry appeared compromised during the opening round.

Jenkins later said several bigger names were in the replacement mix before he got the call, including Nick Diaz, Tyron Woodley, and Anthony Pettis. That made Perry’s statement the next relevant piece of the story after Jenkins described how the short-notice upset came together.
Perry’s next step is still open. The only public update from Perry himself is a message about health, recovery, and taking the experience into whatever comes after the shoulder-injury loss.
