Miesha Tate shared her profound experience with psychedelics, highlighting how they facilitated an emotional breakthrough for her.

Tate used it for healing

Speaking on her podcast, “Cupcake” opened up about her psychedelic journey. She emphasized that rather than using these substances for enjoyment, she utilized them as a means for deep internal healing.

Through her experience, Tate found that psychedelics truly fulfilled their intended purpose, enabling her to confront and process her emotions in a transformative way.

“It wasn’t until years after I had had my kids and [I had] this thought of psychedelics,” Tate revealed. “My friends were doing this more and people were having great stories of how they came out on the other side of this better and I thought okay well I’m not going to a rave and eat mushrooms this is not, my intention is actually to like sit in my backyard and try to become more one with myself. Yeah, and that’s exactly what I got out of it. It was hard though because it brought up some traumas and I had to work through those traumas while being in this different state of mind. And so I cried heavy and I cried deep and then I said okay now it’s time to let go of this.”

Tate felt connected to the world

Moreover, the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion revealed that psychedelics also enabled her to feel a distinct and wonderful connection with the outside world.

“So I’m going to change I was inside at first and then I went outside to my pool and I just noticed everything about the outside and in a way that I felt like I had never been connected to nature before and not just nature but the universe,” she added.

Tate returned to the UFC in 2021 after a five-year retirement and has gone 2-2 since then. She defeated Julia Avila via submission at UFC Austin in her last fight.
