For Years, Tate And Rousey Were The Protagonists Of One Of MMA’s Famous Rivalries.

Former UFC Bantamweight champion Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey met inside the cage twice. ‘Cupcake’ lost the first bout to Rousey when she was in the Strikeforce via armbar then the two met each other in the UFC the results were same as Rousey won by armbar again. Besides those fights, Rousey and Tate exchanged heated words when the two coached opposite each other on “The Ultimate Fighter 18″ however both never get along well on personal levels.

In a recent interview, Tate was asked an interesting question about whose career she’d prefer to choose Ronda Rousey or Amanda Nunes. Assuming many of you would favor Nunes who proclaims herself the GOAT of women’s MMA and coming off big wins over Cris Cyborg and top flyweight contender Valentina Shevchenko.

However, that’s not the case as ‘Cupcake’ leans toward Rousey who was the face of women’s MMA for a long time and becomes a famous figure in the acting world. (h/t MMAJunkie)

“You know, this is such a weird question, because I feel like before I had my daughter, I for sure would have been like, ‘I’d rather have Amanda’s,’ to be honest. “But then looking at everything that is to gain from the popularity and securing my daughter’s future, it’s almost like, how do you do it all?

“If you’d said something like Ronda hadn’t earned all of this … you know (but) Ronda did. She won, she did everything, she dominated, she did a lot of great things. She just got 100-fold recognition for everything she did.”

Tate somehow doesn’t like Rousey’s personality but have big respect for her rival’s fighting career.

“Let’s take the names out of it,” she said. “Would you rather win every bout – let’s assume we’re talking greatest of all time – while (Ronda) was winning and she gets 100 percent return on it, or would you rather put 100 percent effort into it and get 50 percent return on it?

“So I’m looking at this, and I’m gonna say, you know what? I’d rather have Ronda’s career. If you ask me who I’d rather be, I would say Amanda. But if you’re talking about I’m gonna put 110 percent into this and what do you want to get out of it? Do you want to get 100 percent out of it, or do you want to get 50 percent out of it? I’m gonna say I want 100 percent.”

‘Rowdy’ last fought back in December 2016, where she suffered a first-round TKO loss to Nunes at UFC 207.

Amanda Nunes is currently slated to defend her title against former champ Holly Holm at UFC 239.
