Michael Chandler will not be the next UFC fighter to join the WWE.

Over the past several years UFC fighters have been finding new ways to make more money and inherit more fame outside of the Octagon. Fighters have been trying out boxing, acting, and even professional wrestling. It has become commonplace for UFC fighters to make appearances in the WWE ring. Some of the most notable are Ronda Rousey, Paige VanZant, and more.

Fighters with big personalities and an even bigger fan following can do well by playing into these crossovers. Although many of them do not sign on with contracts in the WWE, there have been some to do so. Michael Chandler was asked about his wrestling future recently although he did not seem too inclined to make the switch.

Michael Chandler believes the professional wrestling life is not for him

Michael Chandler is at the top of the MMA game right now. He has a big important fight coming up against Conor McGregor later this year. He is fresh off of filming the newest season of The Ultimate Fighter across from McGregor and might be at the height of his popularity. Chandler hosted a question-and-answer type show on his YouTube channel where he was asked about the possibility of joining the WWE.

“I have no plans of going into the WWE. I have enjoyed my mixed martial arts career, I would love to maybe make a cameo here and there in WWE, but that life does not interest me,” he said. “Those guys are on the road all the time, beating up their bodies. I know it’s “scripted” if you will, but those bumps that they take are real. Those jumps and those landings and those flips and those slams and all those things are real, so I have no intentions of WWE. However, I would love to do a cameo, so Vince McMahon holler at me.”

Although Chandler might not be the next big wrestling star across from Seth Rollins or Becky Lynch, he could hold the door open for a slight one-off. Chandler has been hinting that his MMA career might be on the tail end and this sort of opportunity would be something that could be done sporadically.
