Michael Bisping Vs. Rashad Evans Is On The Table For UFC London

Michael Bisping, a former middleweight champ may headline the UFC London event in a matchup with former UFC light-heavyweight champion Rashad Evans.

As per MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani, Bisping could go on to face fellow MMA veteran Rashad Evans in a rematch at UFC Fight Night London.

A main event fight between Michael Bisping & Rashad Evans is on the table for the London card on March 17. It’s currently being discussed/considered but not finalized yet. A decision will be made soon. Would be a rematch of UFC 78’s headliner, which Evans won via split decision.

Bisping already went on record saying he wouldn’t give Vitor Belfort the satisfaction of a fight. The former champ has been toying with the idea of retirement over the last couple of months. Earlier this year he spoke about his desire to fight his final fight in his native country.

However, Michael Bisping is coming off two straight losses, with his most recent coming from a brutal knockout by Kelvin Gastelum in November. Bisping has since been cleared to fight but has been contemplating walking away without a farewell bout.

“I’m just debating whether or not I take the fight,” Bisping said on his podcast Believe You Me. “I kind of want to go do one last fight in England and they’re like, ‘So what? Five years from now or a year from now, people are gonna forget about all that and you can injure yourself even more.’ but you can injure yourself in any fight, whether or not you’re at 100% health or not. So that’s what we’re up to and I don’t know.”

Rashad Evans is currently on a four-fight losing streak. Since dropping down to middleweight from light heavyweight Evans has concluded 0-2.

This would be their second meeting inside the Octagon. They last fought back in 2007 at UFC 78. Evans got the best of Bisping in that fight, won by split decision.

UFC Fight Night 127 is set to take place on March 18 at the O2 Arena in London, England.
