Michael Bisping Trashes Dillon Danis ‘For Trying So Hard To Be Conor Mcgregor’

After months of hype, talk a bunch of smack, a talented grappler, and Conor McGregor’s teammate, Dillon Danis finally made his MMA debut at Bellator 198, defeating Kyle Walker just 1:38 into the first round with a toehold.

Danis rose to prominence in MMA world when he appointed to help prepare McGregor for his rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202. He doesn’t yet have the skills Conor McGregor possesses, but he’s already champion material when it comes to audacity.

Dillon hasn’t gained much in an MMA ring beside this fresh victory at Bellator 198, but his jujitsu background might be part of the reason for that, his relationship with Irishman makes him exponentially more intriguing.

After the bout, Danis took a lot of credit for the main draw on a card which headlined between former PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko and former UFC heavyweight kingpin Frank Mir. This arrogant and flamboyant attitude didn’t sit well with former middleweight champion Michael Bisping, who sounded off during a recent episode of his podcast: (Quotes Via MMAMania)

“Not only is he Conor McGregor’s jiu-jitsu coach, he’s seeming to try to morph and copy McGregor’s antics. Certainly his clothing. Conor does wear some fucking really nice, cool shit and Dillon Danis is like the poor, second-hand, overwashed, hand-me-down version because his clothes are fucking terrible. But, he’s trying to be Conor so hard, it’s laughable. He even said, ‘After this weekend, I will own Bellator.’ That sounds vaguely like a line where Conor said, ‘I will own boxing.’ He probably knows that this kind of behavior, as it did with me, encourages more people to want to see you get knocked out than win. But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter. The bullshit that he’s doing, the shit that he’s spewing is working.”

Bisping explosively said Danis is trying hard to copy his superstar training partner’s style.

It didn’t take long for Dillon Danis to fire off a response via social media post:

Many others weren’t impressed with Danis performance including Michael Chandler, a former Bellator lightweight champion who rips Dillon said he needs to beat someone with a winning record first.

Danis fires back with a bitter reply to Chandler:

Do you agree with Bisping’s assessment on Danis?
