- Michael Bisping explained why Jake Paul’s win over Mike Perry wasn’t great at all
- “The Count” challenges “The Problem Child” to pick a real boxer his size
Michael Bisping is not impressed by how Jake Paul abused Mike Perry with his size advantage and refusal to call out real boxers.
Jake was a lot bigger
Speaking on his YouTube channel, “The Count” emphasized how ridiculously bigger “The Problem Child” is than “Platinum.” Bisping said that due to the huge size difference, it was impossible for Perry to match Paul.
The former UFC middleweight champion went on and concluded that though Paul stopped Perry, “The Problem Child” is still not a great boxer like he thinks he is.
“Coming into this fight, I think myself, the whole fight community, everyone was behind Mike Perry, but the reality was he was too small. There are weight classes in boxing, in combat sports for a reason,” Bisping said. “It was only until the fight started… I realized the discrepancy in size. Jake Paul was about twice the size of him. The weight difference is going to be insane.”
“That was a farce. That was ridiculous. That fight should have never even taken place in the first place because it was a sh*t show,” he continued. “Jake Paul was by far the bigger guy, and as I’ve said, there are weight classes for a reason. Okay, Jake Paul grinds my gears. Let’s be honest, he does because of all the sh*t talk, of how great that he thinks that he is. But he cherry picks these opponents that are way smaller and less experienced.”
“Technically it wasn’t a good fight. Technically it wasn’t a good performance. Technically a lot of other boxers out there are going to be looking at that and kind of laughing,” he assessed. “Somebody the same size, the same build with the same strength and power of the same experience would’ve had a field day with him. He was all over the place, his feet were crossing all over the place, he was swinging wild, it was reckless. Okay, it wasn’t a technical performance but it was enough to defeat Mike Perry.”
Bisping will only respect Paul if he faces a real boxer
After his KO win over Perry, Paul called out reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira and said he’s next after Mike Tyson. For Bisping, there’s nothing impressive about it as everybody knows a boxing match with “Poatan” will never happen. Moreover, Tyson is nearly 60 years old.
According to “The Count,” Paul will only earn his respect once he decides to finally face a real boxer with a good resume.
“The sh*t show continues. Jake Paul calls out Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira… Of course, Jake Paul says he wants to challenge himself, okay? So, he calls out Alex Pereira, who he knows damn well that fight will never materialize. So, of course, he’s going to call him out. He goes, ‘Mike Tyson!’ The man’s 58 years old. Why don’t you fight a real boxer? I’m looking at the cruiserweight boxing rankings… Anyone in that top 10, they would smoke him, they would deal him a devastating knockout, they would land crushing blows and he would be sh*tting his pants in there. I still don’t have respect because that was pure bully-boy tactics. To cherry pick someone half his bloody size… And that’s why I still don’t have respect,” Bisping ranted.
“He’s a draw. He’s a draw to a bunch of 12-year-old, pre-pubescent Disney boys. and if that’s what he wants to be fantastic but if he ever wants the respect of the fight community then he’s got to take on a real challenge and when he does, he will have my respect but until then, Mike Perry’s the tough guy,” he added.
“He beat him. Well done. Congratulations. Then to call out Alex Pereira, that’s definitely not going to happen, and then in the same breath, continue to call out Mike Tyson, 58 years old. It is absolutely laughable,” he concluded.
Paul is still expected to face Tyson in November. Pereira, meanwhile, has verbally agreed to take on “The Problem Child” but it’s unlikely that UFC president Dana White would give it a nod.
As it stands, Paul is now 10-1 as a pro boxer with seven wins coming by way of KO/TKO.
