Jon Jones is the big UFC champion, and lots of people think he’s the best fighter ever. Jake Paul, on the other hand, started as a YouTuber and now boxes, picking fights with older or smaller people who aren’t as skilled.

Even though they’re really different, Michael Bisping says they’re both doing the same thing: picking fights with people they think they can win against. He thinks Jon Jones is avoiding a tough fight with Tom Aspinall and wants an easier one with Alex Pereira instead.

Michael Bisping Says Jon Jones Is Acting Like Jake Paul in Fight Choices

Michael Bisping thinks Jon Jones and Jake Paul are both choosing easy fights. He believes they are picking people they think they can beat. Bisping, who is still getting better after a big surgery, is getting upset with Jon Jones because he doesn’t want to fight Aspinall.

“Jon can do whatever he wants,” Bisping said on his ‘Believe You Me’ podcast.

“My only issue is as a man, as a fighter, is him saying he doesn’t have this obligation to fight these young up-and-coming, hungry, dangerous guys that have an ability to beat him.

“I don’t get that. That’s what my problem is with Jake Paul. Fighting guys that he knows he can beat. Alex Pereira, he has a very blatantly obvious path to victory. He just took down Stipe. He took down Ciryl Gane. He will take down Alex Pereira.

“Would he be able to take down Tom? That’s the question. That’s the fight. That’s what we want to see.”

Michael Bisping was really impressed by Jon Jones’ performance at UFC 309, especially after he knocked out Stipe Miocic. Bisping now thinks a fight between Jones and Aspinall would be even more interesting. However, he’s getting frustrated because it seems like Jones is trying to avoid the fight with Aspinall.

Bisping continued: “I’ve always said I think Tom would beat Jon. But when I was watching this Saturday night, I was like, ‘Jon looks big. Jon looks fast. Jon looks like he’s got the ability to go five rounds if he wants to or he needs to.’

“I believe Jon would give him some problems. I believe that is a real fight that the world wants to see.”

The positive thing for Bisping and others who agree with him is that Dana White, the UFC president, has made it clear that Jon Jones won’t be fighting Alex Pereira next. Dana has promised that Tom Aspinall will get his title shot, even though Jon Jones seems to be avoiding that fight.

That means Jones and Aspinall are likely to face off sometime in 2025.
