Conor McGregor wants to win a third world title upon his return to the Octagon.

The former two-division UFC Champion has a plethora of options for his comeback fight. There’s a list of names from 155lbs to 170lbs that he could fight. However, there is one fighter sticks out from the rest for McGregor. That’s UFC Welterweight king Kamaru Usman

‘Waltz Back Into A Title Shot’

Of course, critics of ‘The Notorious’ don’t want him to get an immediate title shot right off the bat. But the Irishman insists that’s the only thing he really wants. McGregor is confident he’ll get another crack at a title and it’s not at 155…

“I’m going to waltz back into a title shot, make no mistake about it,” McGregor told The Mac Life. “It’s that or I won’t. It has to be a title shot. What else can it f*cking be?

“Let’s see how things shake up. There’s plenty of fights, I’m a fighter at the end of the day. I’ll say that but I’ll probably f*cking do anything. I just want to fight and compete, but I want that gold belt… I wish to obtain, I will obtain [UFC gold]. It’s about finding out which weight now, I just don’t really see myself going to 155 again.”

McGregor vs. Usman

With lightweight out of the picture, at least for now, McGregor shifts his focus onto Usman. There’s only one thing that stands between McGregor and his title dreams and that’s ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’.

“That’s the fight to make,” McGregor continued. “Myself vs. Usman for the 170lbs title for my comeback fight is the one I’m eyeballing at the minute. I haven’t really said that to no one, to be honest. I’ve only been saying that the last couple of days. I can be honest.

“Cut the weight? I’ve already won the 155lb title. I got myself down to a lightweight frame, but I’m big now. I feel strong, I feel healthy. I’ve got good energy coming back after a gruesome injury. I don’t want to deplete myself. There should be no need to deplete myself.”

Mystic Mac Isn’t Impressed The Champ

McGregor likes the stylistic matchup that comes with fighting Usman. ‘The Notorious’ sees no danger in there with the champ and is confident in seizing ‘the triple crown’.

“I feel confident against Usman, a jab-happy, sloppy, orthodox wrestler with no submissions whatsoever. What’s he going to do? Where’s the danger here? I don’t see a danger with him. His ground and pound isn’t strong. Plus he’s on the older side.

“The world is to be took again. The triple crown… no one’s ever obtained three UFC world titles across three divisions, like I will do also, if we make this fight.”
