Leonard Ellerbe: “If Conor McGregor Wants Some Of That Smoke Again, He Knows What He’s Got To Do.”
Conor McGregor was very vocal about his desire to step back into the boxing ring against greatest of all time Floyd Mayweather. Mcgregor even told Tony Robbins in an interview that he was ready for another shot and that he’d win a rematch.
McGregor explained how he had the upper hand against Mayweather in the fight until the latter switched up his style. But most people who watched the match would say otherwise, while some would agree with the Irish MMA star.
But, that was the past and Mayweather’s promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe would be all for the rematch as he told TMZ Sports…
“Conor McGregor knows he’s always welcome to that ass whooping. I have the utmost respect for Conor, for Dana and all of those guys. If he wants some of that smoke again, he knows what he’s got to do”.
Ellerbe was asked what he thought about McGregor believing he had a chance to beat Mayweather and he responded with…
“Well, he’s been in there with Floyd, so if he feels that way, all he has to do is make a phone call”.
Ellerbe then responded to a question about whether or not Floyd Mayweather would step back into the ring for boxing ever again and he explained… “No, he has zero interest.”
Mayweather has so much going on regarding real estate investments that it’s not hard to believe that he’d never box again. Unless… he gets another lucrative fight deal with Conor McGregor as their first fight earned him.
Their first matchup in 2017 was a massive event and the second highest selling bout in combat sports history. But it would be interesting to see how many sales a rematch would generate.
It’s a fight that we would all like to see, and Leonard Ellerbe said that he believes Mayweather would step back into the ring for Conor McGregor…
“If you’re asking me, I think Floyd would oblige to that ass whooping.”
