Max Holloway faced a challenging night at UFC 326 when he lost to Charles Oliveira in the main event. Oliveira controlled most of the fight with repeated takedowns, leaving Holloway on the ground for almost the entire 25-minute contest. Despite landing just 26 significant strikes, Holloway stayed positive after the loss.
“[My strategy was] just stick and move but they came with a better game plan. You’ve got to give it up for Oliveira guys. A hell of a fighter, a true ‘BMF’ and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Holloway told Joe Rogan.

Holloway Reflects and Plans His Next Move
This fight was Holloway’s second in the lightweight division after leaving featherweight. The move helped him gain muscle and avoid extreme weight cuts. He already has wins over Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier at 155 pounds.
“I’m going to come back and whoop somebody’s ass and be right in title contention again. I ain’t done yet. I’m going to see Mr. Oliveira again. That’s for sure,**” Holloway added.
Holloway remains one of the UFC’s most popular fighters, and fans can expect him to return for more high-profile bouts. Even in defeat, his record for the most strikes landed in UFC history highlights his skill and resilience.
