So this UFC 137 card is coming together pretty OK I guess, nothing huge happening or anything, but It’s a decent card. Hioki/Roop is exciting, Nelson vs Cro Cop is cool, but now that Matt Mitrione has been named as the next man to face Cheick Kongo and his battle beard, the UFC 137 card is officially deemed ‘stacked’. I think there is another decent fight on that card but I can’t remember what…hmm. Nevermind that, lets focus on the dramatic tale of friendship, revenge and facial hair that will be told at UFC 137.
It’s no secret Barry and Mitrione hang out and train together, they even have the same sponsors. Can his training partner and buddy finish the job he came so close to completing before he got laid out in spectacular fashion by Cheick? We shall see.
The most important factor in this match up however, is the one no one is talking about at the moment. Facial hair. Thus far Cheick Kongo has proved to be an unstoppable force with the Kongo Beard of Power™, but Matt can off set this advantage by regrowing his Mitrione Mustache of Power™ from last year. I can say right now with full confidence that if a mustache and a beard enter the Octagon at UFC 137 we will witness the greatest match in MMA history.
