Jorge Masvidal Wants BMF Gold, Welterweight Gold, Then Demian Maia
Jorge Masvidal is certainly soaking in all of the illustrious limelight that comes with fighting for the ‘BMF’ title. While many fans and fighters alike agree that the made-up title has no significance, both Masvidal and his opponent Nate Diaz believe that the title could elevate them to higher levels. So much so, that Masvidal already has plans in line if he captures the ‘BMF’ title. First win the ‘BMF’, next, the welterweight title, and lastly… Demian Maia.
Thankfully, the bout between Masvidal and Diaz is still on. Earlier in the week, the MMA world exploded when Diaz failed a USADA test and put the main event of UFC 245 in danger. Since the failed test, Diaz has been exonerated from the test when it was discovered that an organic, vegan, plant-based multivitamin contained trace amounts of a SARM that Diaz popped for.
Masvidal Reveals Plans After UFC 245
“Gamebred” never seemed worried about the fight potentially not happening. In fact, he was vocal on social media that he believed in Diaz’s innocence. With that out of the way, Masvidal is focused on his plans. He revealed those plans to his manager Ibrahim Kawa.
Just spoke to @GamebredFighter and he wants maia to save his last fight for him. Says after he wins the gold he will give him his shot. He really wants to run that one back.

“Just spoke to (Jorge Masvidal) and he wants Maia to save his last fight for him,” revealed Kawa. “Says after he wins the gold, he will give him his shot. He really wants to run that one back.”
Setting Up Masvidal vs Maia 2
Maia’s impressive grappling resulted in an amazing submission victory over Ben Askren at UFC Singapore. Additionally, it inspired Masvidal to want to avenge his loss to Maia from UFC 211. Maia won a razor-thin split decision over Masvidal which was a title contention eliminator bout. Demian went on to face champion Tyron Woodley while Jorge went on to fight Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson.
If Masvidal wins the ‘BMF’ title, he’ll have the power to call the shots. And, if he is able to capture UFC welterweight gold, it’ll be enough to lure Maia into another bout. Especially if Demian Maia is on his out of the door, as he implied to the crowd when he said he has two fights left in him. One of the fights Maia wants in Diego Sanchez.
The last fight could very well be facing Masvidal for UFC gold.
