UFC Fight Night 144 is happening live tonight (Saturday, February 2, 2019) inside Northeast Olympic Training Center in Fortaleza, Brazil.
The main event of the evening brings the Bantamweight fight between BJJ black belt Raphael Assuncao and the former WSOF champion Marlon Moraes. The two already fought at UFC 212 on June 3, 2017, where Assuncao won via tight split decision. Jason Herzog is the referee. Here we go!
Round 1
Marlon Moraes opens up with a good leg kick, and now Assuncao attempts 1-2 combo. Spinning back kick good attempt. Now an excellent oblique kick lands, what a match! Good jab exchange. Moraes misses with an uppercut.
What A Right Hand And Assuncao Is Rocked!!!
I think it was an overhand right by Moraes, his elbow was up! Assuncao manages to survive but Moraes jumps into his guard. It looks like Raphael Assuncao is cut!
Now Assuncao uses butterfly guard to defend. Moraes transits to the half guard and lands some big shots. Great right hand again, and now a guillotine choke attempt from Moraes, who rolls into the mount. The match is over, Moraes wins via submission!
