Mark Hunt And Alexey Oleynik Announced As UFC Moscow Main Event

There was an initial report by ESPN emerged back in May that Hunt and Oleynik are in works for UFC Moscow, now on Thursday morning, UFC officials confirmed the news that heavyweight showdown between them has settled for UFC Fight Night 136 main event on Sept. 15, 2018, inside Olympic Stadium in Moscow, Russia.

Fabricio Werdum was supposed to lock horns against Oleynik but pulled out of the bout after running afoul with USADA.

Hunt last fought at UFC 221 back in February, where he lost the bout via unanimous decision to Curtis Blaydes but holds notable wins over the likes of former champion Frank Mir, Derrick Lewis and Roy Nelson.

Oleynik is coming off rare Ezekiel choke finish against Brazilian heavyweight, Junior Albini at UFC 224 just last May. Before this win, Oleynik was defeated by Curtis Blaydes at UFC 217.

UFC Moscow will mark promotion’s first ever show on Russian soil. More fights on the card will announce in coming weeks.
