Liver King called on Conor McGregor to try and take the ‘throne’ from him.
Fitness influencer King gained notoriety after videos of him eating raw meat went viral on social media. He promotes an all-natural lifestyle based on the nine ancestral tenets. Lately, he has been expanding his creative footprint beyond the fitness space and getting more active in the MMA community. King had previously caught the attention of UFC color commentator Joe Rogan, who argued that King was playing a gimmick and pumped with steroids.
Following a brief feud with middleweight top-ranked contender Paulo Costa, King found his new adversary in the former UFC two-division champion McGregor.
Liver King challenges Conor McGregor to take his throne
In a recent video posted on his Instagram, King fired shots at McGregor, challenging him to take his throne.
“I’d like to take this chance to apologize… to absolutely f*cking nobody,” he wrote. “Last time I checked, the name is Liver King because LIVER… IS… KING! You should know this crown is motherf*cking bolted to Liver King’s head… it’s going to take one helluva savage to remove it. Nobody, and I mean, nobody, attacks Liver with such ferocity (at breakfast, lunch and dinner). If you’re game to try, by all means, practice what you preach @thenotoriousmma … until then, you can call me Liver King.”
King used McGregor’s iconic lines to heat up the rivalry
King referenced McGregor’s iconic line from his rematch with Nate Diaz to add fuel to the fire.
“The one and only undisputed champion of the world, Liver King here. Taking shots, making shots, breaking bones, and busting balls. If you or any other ‘Notorious’ nobody thinks you have what it takes to take the throne, then step up and take your best shot. Surprise, surprise motherf**ker, the king is here!”
McGregor traded verbal jabs with him earlier this week. He took issue with comparisons to King based on his recent transformation. ‘The Notorious’ is yet to respond to Liver King after his latest callout.
