Lights Out Lytle finishes his MMA career like it was scripted by Steven Spielberg

A huge LOL if you sincerely believe you could have scripted a better ending to an MMA career than what played out tonight at UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle. In probably one of the most elevating blood rate inducing free cards since the days of WEC, we witnessed a potpouri of slick submissions, mind deadening knockouts and (get ready for it) entertaining decisions. However, more importantly we witnessed the retirement of Chris Lytle, which was punctuated by a last second guillotine of Dan Hardy. One could argue that it would have been wise for Dan Hardy to back off in the final seconds of the fight and possibly grab a split-decision, but the need to steal the round resulted in Lytle nearly stealing his consciousness at the 4:17 mark.

Now you’re probably wondering how soon Dan Hardy will sign a contract with BAMMA. Hold on to your assumptions, partner. Here’s what Lorenzo Fertitta said regarding Dan Hardy’s loss.

However, it appears the Ben Askren laughs at your sympthaty towards Dan Hardy. In fact, he called him out just moments after his loss to Lytle.

Prior to tonight’s fight, Chris Lytle collected a total of eight ‘…of the night’ bonuses, yielding him a cool $325,000. Now it looks like he can tag two more to his record. Check out what Dana White said minutes after the end of Lytle vs. Hardy.
