(Video) Chuck Liddell Embraces Tony Ferguson Following UFC 274 Knockout

Ferguson suffered a devastating second-round knockout defeat following a front kick to the face against Michael Chandler.

Tony Ferguson Chuck Liddell

Tony Ferguson was on the end of arguably the most vicious knockout in UFC history.

Despite a promising start to his lightweight fight with Michael Chandler at UFC 274 this past weekend, Ferguson would end up eating a front kick to the face which put his lights out cold.

It was jubilation for Chandler, but for many in the combat sports world, it was a shock to not only see Ferguson suffer his fourth defeat in a row, but also get knocked out cold for the first time.

There was also a collective sadness as it may have been the last time we’ve seen Ferguson at the highest level, at least in the lightweight division.

While Chandler was giving his post-fight interview, footage was caught of former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell embracing Ferguson and giving him some words of encouragement.

Liddell knows all too well about being on top of the world before suffering defeats and while Ferguson accepted his words, he also looked defeated and out of it.

MMA World Shows Support For Tony Ferguson

Liddell was not the only one.

While Conor McGregor took great joy out of Ferguson’s setback, many, including Michael Chandler offered words of support to “El Cucuy” following his defeat.

Most recently, Charles Oliveira offered support to Ferguson and even laid out an offer to train with him in Brazil.

For his part, Ferguson seems to be in good spirits and even declared that he would be back soon.

Hopefully, whenever he does return, it will be after an extended period of rest to recover from such a brutal knockout.
