It’s good to know Rustam Khabilov had a great training camp with Zangief prior to his UFC debut tonight at UFC on Fuel TV. During the event we were still holding out for Rustam Khabilov to power up for a spinning pile driver, but three impressive belly-to-back suplexes will definitely do. Perhaps for his next fight he can wander the Siberian forests and get some gnarly scars on his chest and rock a ridiculous flat top haircut.
The last time we’ve seen such a string of constitutive suplexes was back in Japan at K-1 Dynamite!! when Miyata essentially flipped Caol Uno an insane amount of times during their NYE bout. Esther Lin even put together this violently beautiful image of the bout from 2010. Hopefully she can piece together something as equally as amazing from this .gif of tonight’s Rustam Khabilov performance. Props to Jar of Flies for the .gif.
