- White would’ve liked Edwards vs. Usman in London
- Leon Edwards responded to Dana White’s comment about his brewing title fight with Kamaru Usman
UFC London turned out to be one the most exciting events of the promotion this year. UFC president Dana White was truly satisfied with how the fights went down across the pond in the United Kingdom.
Dana’s One Regret
However, he also admitted that it would’ve been even more “awesome” if the card was headlined by Usman vs. Edwards title fight.
“The only thing that kills me tonight is that it would have been awesome for the main event to be Leon [Edwards] and [Kamaru] Usman,” White told BT Sport. “That would have been incredible here. That was the only thing tonight that’s missing if tonight is missing anything.”
“Rocky” wants to win gold in the U.K.
It didn’t take long for Edwards to make his response to White’s comments. According to “Rocky,” he has no problem if the UFC wants to make the fight with “The Nigerian Nightmare” in the UK.
“Let’s make it happen in the U.K,” Edwards tweeted.
England’s Edwards might not get what he wants however.
It looks like his welterweight title fight against Usman will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two men will likely meet on the marquee at UFC 276 on July 2nd during International Fight Week. It might not be in the challenger’s home country of England, however the fight will still have a big feel to it in the states.
