The flyweight co main event at UFC Vegas 113 brought together two fighters with very different paths. Amir Albazi returned after a long time away, hoping to get back into the title picture. Across from him stood Kyoji Horiguchi, a veteran who has already fought for UFC gold and won titles in other major promotions.

Albazi had built momentum earlier in his UFC run before a loss to Brandon Moreno and a long injury break. This fight was his chance to remind everyone where he belongs. For Horiguchi, the goal was simple. Win again and stay close to another title shot.

How the Fight Played Out

From the opening round, Horiguchi showed his speed. He stayed light on his feet, moved in and out, and landed quick punches before sliding away. Albazi tried to cut off the cage and use his size, but Horiguchi’s timing made that difficult.

There were clinch moments along the fence, and Albazi did his best to slow the fight down. Still, Horiguchi kept finding space and touching him with clean shots. Albazi landed a solid punch that briefly put Horiguchi on the mat, but it did not change the flow of the round for long.

In the second round, the pattern stayed the same. Horiguchi kept his distance, mixed in jabs and hooks, and made Albazi miss. Albazi pushed forward and looked for takedowns, but Horiguchi defended well and broke free when he needed to. As the round went on, Horiguchi’s accuracy started to show more, and Albazi spent more time backing up.

The final round was Albazi’s last chance to turn things around. He came forward with more pressure and finally managed to get Horiguchi down for a moment, but the Japanese veteran stood right back up. Soon after, Horiguchi landed more clean punches, including hard left hands and a head kick that clearly hurt Albazi. Albazi kept trying and held on in clinches to survive, but he could not change the direction of the fight.

When the horn sounded, it was clear who had controlled most of the action.

The Decision

After three rounds, the judges gave the fight to Kyoji Horiguchi by unanimous decision with scores of 30 27, 30 27, and 29 28.
