Sergey Kovalev dominated 49-year-old Bernard Hopkins. Is this the end?

Today we might’ve seen the last of one of the best defensive fighters in the history of boxing. Bernard Hopkins at the age of 49 years old, entered the ring vs. the Russian who’s 18 years his younger, Sergey Kovalev.

We’ve been asking ourselves this question for over ten years, when will father time catch up to Bernard Hopkins? Well… maybe father time doesn’t catch up to him, maybe fighters that are just better than him at this point in his career catch up to him.

To say that Bernard Hopkins lost because his age caught up to him doesn’t do Sergey Kovalev justice. He dominated every round of this fight and he dominated it while fighting a slow paced fight, which is BHop’s wheelhouse.

From the start of the fight, Sergey Kovalev made a statement for what kind of fight it would be, knocking Hopkins down in the first. He then proceeded to outland 166 to 65 Hopkins and ultimately defeating him 120-107, 120-107, 120-106.
