King Green says fight week for UFC 328 came with a nightmare outside the cage after claiming an ex-girlfriend stole roughly $300,000 worth of jewelry from him before his matchup with Jeremy Stephens.

Green, formerly known as Bobby Green before his legal name change, is set to face Stephens in New Jersey while riding a two-fight winning streak. The longtime UFC lightweight has moved from his name change before UFC 304 to a recent surge that included his stoppage win over Daniel Zellhuber, and now he says a major theft hit during fight week.

Green opened up during UFC 328 media day, explaining that his life has changed since buying the Fantasy Topless strip club in Colton, California. According to Green, people around him started acting differently once they believed he had money.

“People have been playing with my heart,” Green said. “People have been playing my money. Everybody that come near me, I gotta feel like, what are you here for? Because they think you got some money. I bought a strip club and they’re like, ‘Oh, you got money. You’re a strip club owner. You got money. You got money.’ So people play with you a certain way.”

Green’s story shifted the usual fight-week talk away from Stephens, weight cutting, and card placement. His issue was personal, and he said the attention around his money has made him question who gets close to him.

“They’re like, ‘Oh, let me get next to them,’” Green said. “And I gotta question everybody around me and go, ‘Why are you here? Do you want some attention? Do you want some money? What is it about me that you want?’ You know what I’m saying? I feel like a giant cookie and everybody wants a bite.”

King Green Says The Theft Left Him Searching For Days

Green said the alleged theft happened after an ex-girlfriend reached out asking for help. He said he let her come by because she claimed someone had died and needed money.

“I had an ex-girlfriend, and she was basically kicking me up saying, ‘Oh, somebody died,’ and she needs some money to help her and stuff,” Green said. “I help people. I take care of people, bro. So I let her come by, get her a little money and stuff trying to help her out. And I left to go to practice. I came back. I left my jewelry in the house … And I normally keep it in my car because I know I’m with some crazy motherf–kers, you know. And she took everything. Took everything.”

Green said the fallout messed with his sleep and pushed him into search mode for several days.

“Bro, I couldn’t sleep for like five days driving around looking for my s–t,” Green said. “Like, it’s been fucking dark, bro. It’s been real dark. But it comes with this s–t, you know … I told you I’m f–king nuts.”

The timing is rough for Green because Stephens still carries the power and pressure that made “Lil Heathen” a problem for years. Green has momentum after the Zellhuber finish, but a veteran fight like this punishes distractions fast.

UFC 328 matters for Green because he is 39, still active at lightweight, and still chasing paydays in a division that does not give old heads easy nights. After the alleged theft, he made it clear a bonus would not just be nice. It would be personal.

“I need all that and some more,” Green said of potential UFC 328 bonus money. “You know? I’m that mad. I’m that pissed. I need that and more. So I plan on going back to work right after this, come back and do another one.”

Green’s immediate path is simple. Beat Stephens, chase the bonus money, and try to turn an ugly fight-week distraction into another quick turnaround.
