- Khamzat Chimaev called Dricus du Plessis an “African gay”
- “Borz” voiced his desire to compete for the middleweight title and beat “Stillknocks”
Khamzat Chimaev threw some jabs at Dricus du Plessis as he expressed his interest in dethroning the middleweight champion.
‘Borz’ called DDP gay
In a space conversation on X with Darren Till, “Borz” talked about the middleweight title as well as Du Plessis. In the audio recording, Chimaev was heard referring to the reigning middleweight champion as “African gay.”
Chimaev also said he needs to win the 185-pound strap to bring the championship back to “normal people.”

“We need to get the title back for the normal people man. This gay [du Plessis] who have the belt. Not normal. First time I’ve ever seen, heard like African gay,” Chimaev said.
‘Borz’ need to beat ‘The Reaper’ first
Chimaev is currently ranked No. 12 in the middleweight rankings. However, the Chechen fighter could take a step closer to UFC gold as he is set to face former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi. As it stands, Chimaev has remained undefeated as a pro, having won all of his seven bouts under the UFC banner.
As for Du Plessis, the champ has defended his title against his arch-rival Israel Adesanya but is likely to have a rematch with No. 1 contender Sean Strickland for his next title defense after UFC president Dana White previously confirmed it.
