Khamzat Chimaev is getting ready for the funeral of Nate Diaz, which he claims he’s organizing.
It was quite a shock when it was announced the UFC Welterweight would get the honor of being Diaz’s last UFC fight (potentially). Even more crazy was that the contenders would headline UFC 279. It was going to be a card ruled by no champions.
Chimaev Is Content With Next Contest
Chimaev might not be facing champ Kamaru Usman but ‘Borz’ is beyond happy to be fighting Stockton’s own superstar and fellow ‘gangster’.
“I’m happy he’s (Nate Diaz) fighting with me, you know,” Khamzat Chimaev said on The MMA Hour. “He’s one of the legends, he’s one of the – everyone speaks (of him) like ‘Gangster, gangster.’

Gangsters Are A Part Of Chimaev’s Diet
“Now, I’m gonna show who’s the real gangster,” Chimaev continued. “I told before, we from Chechnya, we grow up on the war. And we eat gangsters for breakfast, you know.”
UFC 279’s main event isn’t exactly a turf war between crime bosses, but we’ll see which ‘gangster’ prevails in Las Vegas.
