Khamzat Chimaev talked about Robert Whittaker’s broken chin after UFC 308 and what he plans to do next. He also expressed gratitude for Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
Khamzat didn’t mean it
Speaking to the media following his brutal submission win over “The Reaper,” Chimaev came clean about hearing something popped as he pulled off a face crank on Whittaker. However, “Borz” noted that he didn’t intend to break his opponent’s chin.

“Yeah, before I come in here, they show [a photo of Whittaker’s broken chin] to me. I felt something was wrong with his chin when I push it. So, feel bad for that, [I] didn’t mean to broke somebody’s chin. But this is my work, you know. Make somebody pain and make me happy and my family… When I pushed it, I felt some clicks,” Chimaev said.

Khamzat wants everybody
When asked about what’s next, Chimaev didn’t specify any target but is open to facing everybody put in front of him. As for the idea of moving up to challenge light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, “Borz” answered with a resounding “of course.”
“I want to fight everyone. Just make money, be happy… I talked about three belts from long time ago. So, of course, I want to go up. But Dana White, what the UFC wants, I don’t know, man. So if they give me first a [fight] in my weight class, [then] I need to take the belt, then I’m gonna think about it as well,” Chimaev pointed out.

A message to Kadyrov
Chimaev has long been supported by Kadyrov. Unsurprisingly, “Borz” penned a heartfelt tribute to the controversial Head of the Chechen Republic shortly after his UFC 308 victory.
“Despite his busyness and lack of time, my main fan, my dear BROTHER, the Head of the Czech Republic Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov was at the tournament, supporting me before and during the fight, I felt this support and could not let him down and did everything I could to get this victory at the will of the Almighty, I managed to make this gift for him. I’ll say it gave me extra motivation and strength. Ramzan Akhmatovich is the man, thanks to whom I opened a second breath in my career, in the most difficult period, he brought me home, talked to me and made me believe that these are only temporary difficulties at the will of the Almighty and I restarted my career, for that I have many thanks and gratitude. I dedicate this victory to him and all the Chechen people. Deeds reza hill hyun, dream larame wild YOURS! Ahmat is the force! Allah is the Greatest!!!,” he wrote on Instagram.
The win over Whittaker saw Chimaev improving his unbeaten pro MMA record to 14-0. He is now 8-0 under the UFC banner.
