Khamzat Chimaev Overpowers Arman Tsarukyan in Recent Grappling Footage
Many fans are excited to see the full sparring session between Khamzat Chimaev and Arman Tsarukyan, as both are top contenders in their divisions. Before Chimaev’s big win over Robert Whittaker at UFC 308, a short clip of their sparring leaked.
Now the full video is available, and people have noticed how Chimaev used his size advantage to control the fight. Despite being much bigger, Chimaev’s speed also impressed viewers.
Tsarukyan’s plan from the start was to focus on surviving in the sparring session. He even told the cameras about it.
“I will try to defend myself and avoid getting choked because it is submission only.
“And because of this I will just work as a second number. But if I get the chance to choke or grab the neck, I will take it.”
“It was a surprise to me that Arman agreed to this and wanted to wrestle me on camera,” Chimaev told the cameras. “He knew that I would win and that’s how it turned out.”

Chimaev seemed surprised that Tsarukyan would take on the challenge, mentioning the size difference and saying Tsarukyan must know there’s a big gap between their levels. In the end, Chimaev’s bigger size played a big role.
Fans believe one big reason Khamzat Chimaev won the grappling match against Arman Tsarukyan is because of the size difference. Chimaev usually competes at 185 pounds and has even fought at 170 pounds, but when he’s not in fight camp, he’s much bigger compared to Tsarukyan. The size gap made it hard for Tsarukyan to keep up.
