Khamzat Chimaev plans to be the clergy or a paul bearer at Nate Diaz‘s funeral.
A fight Nate has been asking for
On Tuesday, it was announced that Chimaev and Diaz will headline UFC 279 in Las Vegas in a five-round main event. According to Diaz’s representative, Zach Rosenfield, the Stockton fighter has been asking for Chimaev since April.
“This is a fight Nate has been asking for since the middle of April,” Rosenfield told ESPN’s, Brett Okamoto.

Funeral
Well, obviously, Diaz got what he wanted. But there is a famous saying, ‘be careful what you ask for.’
Chimaev commented on the fight announcement through his manager.
“I am going to handle Nate Diaz’s funeral with the UFC,” Chimaev said.

While this is one of the toughest fights for Diaz to go out on, he did ask for it, so he must see something that we don’t.
Chimaev is coming off a three-round war with Gilbert Burns, where he looked human for the first time in the UFC. Prior to that, he had decimated everyone he had fought and made it look easy.
Diaz will be fighting out his contract, and from all accounts, he will be on his way out of the promotion.
