The UFC’s newest superstar Khamzat Chimaev reportedly got married.

Over the weekend, UFC welterweight Chimaev got married in his hometown of Chechnya. While not a lot is known, obviously as it is someone’s private life, pictures and videos started coming out.

Ramzan Kadyrov, Head of the Chechen Republic and a close friend to Chimaev, attended the wedding and reportedly put together a video package on his low-key personal Instagram. The video includes highlights from the incredible ceremony and a police escort of the bride. It also shows Chimaev walking into the building where the ceremony was held.

The Instagram post said, “Friends, the day before, I accepted with great pleasure an invitation to a wedding event, which took place at the Parus restaurant. Dear BROTHER, UFC fighter Khamzat Chimaev @khamzat_chimaev tied himself up with family ties.

Not only relatives and friends of Khamzat gathered here, but also numerous friends. Everything was perfectly organized in accordance with national traditions.

I really enjoyed my visit to the celebration. After all, each new family in the Chechen Republic is an additional reason for the joy of all its inhabitants.

I heartily congratulate the newlyweds! I sincerely wish the contentment of the Almighty, good health, happiness and prosperity!”

Chimaev is coming off the Fight of the Year so far in 2022 with Gilbert Burns at UFC 273. He was briefly linked with Nate Diaz, but nothing has come of it. Instead, the undefeated fighter called out Leon Edwards on Saturday.

UFC President Dana White said he wanted to book Chimaev vs. Colby Covington next for the UFC’s next ABC card, but it looks like that plan has fallen through at the moment.
