Top-ranked UFC welterweight contender and rising star Khamzat Chimaev has called out both Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.

Khamzat Chimaev Teases McGregor & Diaz

Both McGregor and Diaz are two of the promotion’s biggest stars, and Chimaev seems to want to get into the Octagon with both men. Taking to Twitter, Chimaev first took aim at Diaz. Chimaev called Diaz “skinny,” attempting to goad him into a back-and-forth. This came hours after some photo leaks from the UFC matchmaking office, seemingly showing the promotion’s plans to pair Chimaev and Diaz up for a summer bout.

Chimaev then turned his attention to McGregor, poking fun at his injury recovery, asking him if his “holiday” was over yet.

McGregor sidelined

McGregor broke his tibia during his trilogy bout with Dustin Porier in July of last year. As a result, the Irishman has been sidelined and likely won’t be able to fight again until later on this year.

In the meantime, McGregor seems to have put on some size and is looking to challenge UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman for what would be a third division title. Of course, he’d likely need to go through contenders like Chimaev first.

It remains to be seen if McGregor does make the jump up to 170 pounds upon his return. In regards to Diaz, McGregor also has unfinished business with the Stockton native, as they have a trilogy bout they have yet to have.

Regardless, should Chimaev not land a bout with either Diaz or McGregor, being the No. 3-ranked welterweight in the world, he’s within arm’s reach of a title shot.

McGregor and his fiancee are currently spending time in France with their newly acquired worth over $3 million Lamborghini yacht.

That will be no easy task, however. As the division is currently run by Kamaru Usman, who has been one of the most dominant champions in recent memory.
