Khalil Rountree left his heart on his sleeve following his UFC Vegas 50 fight.
His Latest Win
Rountree went one-on-one with Karl Roberson on the main card inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Many expected violence with this one and that’s exactly what they got. Rountree won the fight via second-round TKO.
It wasn’t the result that got the MMA community buzzing, however. Rountree sent a powerful message to those who are struggling with depression. It’s a situation that Rountree found himself in and needed to find a way to overcome the struggle.

Khalil Rountree Gets More Emotional
During his post-fight interview with Paul Felder, Khalil Rountree recalled being a 300-pound kid with no direction in his life and feeling there was no reason to live. Rountree said the following when asked what would he say to that version of himself during his post-fight scrum.
“It might sound a bit cliche or we’ve heard this before but your life matters,” Rountree said. “Your life matters, you can be special, you can be strong, you can be seen, you can be heard. Life is beautiful if you make it that way. It doesn’t have to be how everybody else makes it seem. Stick around, stick around another day. I would have a lot of things like that to say, man.”
With the victory, Rountree improves his pro MMA record to 10-5, 1 NC. He has now won two fights in a row. His stoppage victory over Roberson has earned Rountree a “Performance of the Night” bonus. This is his second fight night bonus under the UFC banner.
