Khabib’s Father: We’ll Demand Ferguson Fight As Long He Is Able To Walk

Last night, on April 1, bad news broke that Tony Ferguson suffered a knee injury that forced him to pull out of the UFC 223 card. But Khabib Nurmagomedov remains on the card and will face featherweight champion, Max Holloway, instead, who has a chance to score a title in two different divisions.

Ferguson vs. Nurmagomedov, which has now been canceled four times over the past three years.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s coach and father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov insists that a fight will happen between his son and Ferguson in future despite being canceled for the fourth time.

Being said that, UFC president Dana White who spoke to ESPN that he will never book Ferguson vs. Nurmagomedov again, after the cancellation of their recent bout, however, Khabib’s father is optimistic that this fight will happen during his conversation with TASS.ru:

“As long as Ferguson is able to walk, we’ll demand this fight. We’re ready to fight with him any time and under any circumstances. We’re wishing him to get well, and waiting for him.” (Quote Via RT)

Khabib’s father also praises Holloway, who is riding on 12 fight winning streak and defeated Jose Aldo twice.

“He’s a very dangerous opponent, who dropped Jose Aldo in his last bout. He’s very fast and a smart fighter, so this is going to a very interesting fight. I think Holloway is not any less interesting than Ferguson.”
