  • “The Eagle” hinted at a possible racial issue

Khabib Nurmagomedov has issued a public statement addressing the incident that saw him getting kicked off the plane on his way LA for UFC 311.

Khabib suspects some racial undertone

Nurmagomedov made headlines after he was removed from his flight to Los Angeles over a conflict with a crew member. The former UFC lightweight champion finally got the chance to share his side of the story on social media.

According to “The Eagle,” the flight attendant has been “very rude” to him right off the jump. Moreover, Nurmagomedov thinks the incident could also be about some “racial” issues.

“First of all, I need to clarify that it was @FlyFrontier [and] not AlaskaAir. Lady who comes to me with questions was very rude from the very beginning, even though I speak very decent English and can understand everything and agreed to assist, she still insists on removing me from my seat. What was the base for that, racial, national or other one, I’m not sure,” Nurmagoemdov wrote.

“But after 2 minutes of conversation, she called security and I was deplaned from this aircraft, after 1,5 hour I boarded another airline one and left to my destination. I did my best to stay calm and respectful as you can see on the video. But those crew members could do better next time and just be nice with clients,” he continued.

Khabib will corner Islam and Usman at UFC 311

Nurmagomedov apparently was able to take another flight to LA. That said, he is expected to be just in time for UFC 311.

Nurmagomedov will be there to support and corner Islam Makhachev and Usman Nurmagomedov in their respective title fights this weekend. Makhachev will face Arman Tsarukyan in a rematch, while Usman will try and dethrone Merab Dvalishvili in their bantamweight title fight.
