Khabib Nurmagomedov pulls out of another fight, goes back to a life of Twitter trash talk and Reebok shirts

Everyone on the Internet knows Stevie Wonder really isn’t blind and now everyone on the Internet knows UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov really won’t fight Tony Ferguson this year. The next time Khabib Nurmagomedov fights in the UFC it will be two years since his last live Octagon action. A life of bear wrestling and quick Twitter fingers has caused Nurmagomedov to become injury prone.

Looking past his cult following from the online MMA community, do fans even remember why they were so geeked about Nurmagomedov slamming fools in the UFC? Sure Nurmagomedov talks some good shit on Twitter, likes bears, and holds a boring decision win over champion Rafael dos Anjos but after that what else does the Sambo master offer? The phrase “you’re only good as your last fight” has a 24 month expiration date.

If Nurmagomedov doesn’t come back soon fans may remember that he wasn’t all that exciting to begin with; see decisions wins over the murder’s row that was Abel Trujillo, Pat Healy, and the Kamal Shalorus. Come back before the end of 2016 Nurmagomedov and maybe you will get Anthony Pettis to cry via your tweets again.

“I want to apologize to my fans. I broke my rib, and again I am out of the fight. I really wanted to come back, I’m not sure if i will ever come back. Thanks to my fans and my sponsors. To Allah Praise. #Alhamdulillah #khkmmateam #reebok #ufc”
