Khabib Nurmagomedov Open To Putting His Differences With Conor Mcgregor, Prefers Mayweather Fight Over Tony Ferguson
In the build-up of their fight, both fighters traded verbal blows especially Mcgregor crossed the line insulted Khabib’s family and religion. Last month in the main headliner of UFC 229 undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Conor Mcgregor via submission in the fourth round from inside the T-Mobile Arena in the Las Vegas.
Shortly after a win, Russian champion from Dagestan leaped over the cage and scuffled with Irishman’s Jiu-Jitsu coach Dillion Danis. Team members of Khabib’s entourage also climbed into the octagon and attacked McGregor, and ‘Notorious’ also tried to jump out of the Octagon during the melee.
Currently, both fighters are being suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for their role in the melee. A final disciplinary hearing will be conduct on December 10 where Mcgregor and Khabib will find out their fates.

“Everything is possible. Just as McGregor and I feuded, so we could reconcile. Who are we not to forgive one another when the Almighty forgives us?”
Like Mcgregor before him, Nurmagomedov calls out boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr for a potential showdown, to which Mayweather responded ‘get the checkbook out.’ Irishman did his debut against “Money” in August 2017 boxing spectacle which Mayweather won by TKO in the 10th round. Both fighters took home millions.
UFC president Dana White has shot down the possibility of another cross-over match; however, Nurmagomedov prefers a showdown with Mayweather than a pairing with UFC’s choice Tony ‘El Cucuy’ Ferguson.
“For legacy and in the sense of the money aspect, and in a sporting sense, I think the Mayweather fight is much more interesting,” Nurmagomedov said, adding that any negotiations have to wait for his scheduled hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Dec. 10 regarding the aftermath of the McGregor fight. “The athletics commission needs to finish up first and then we’ll talk.”
Meanwhile, McGregor rumored to be linked with a fight against Donald Cerrone.
