UFC booked two top lightweight contenders Kevin Lee and Edson Barboza for the main event of April 21’s UFC Fight Night event from Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, per a recent report by MMA Fighting.
Ariel Helwani reported earlier this week that this bout was in the works.
Atlantic City, Rio and Chicago have all been discussed as possible landing spots.

The #4 lightweight in the world, Edson Barboza was brutally beaten by Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 219, losing a lopsided decision in their December contest. The defeat snapped his three-fight winning streak, which included decision wins over Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez, as well as highlight-reel flying knee knockout against Beneil Dariush.
While, the #7 “Motown Phenom,” Kevin Lee is coming off a loss by current interim champion Tony Ferguson at the main event of UFC 216 via third-round submission. Prior to that, lee scores five-straight wins at the lightweight level, including finishes of Michael Chiesa, Francisco Trinaldo, and Jake Matthews.
UFC Fight Night Atlantic City takes place on Saturday, April 21 from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
