- Ken Shamrock doesn’t want to see Jake Paul beat Mike Tyson
- The MMA legend believes “Iron Mike” could finish “The Problem Child” only if he lands early
Ken Shamrock believes it’s not gonna be good for boxing if Jake Paul beats a legend like Mike Tyson.
The boxing world doesn’t wanna see Jake beat Tyson
Speaking to VLAD TV, the UFC and WWE legend shared his brutally honest take on the upcoming boxing match between Paul and Tyson. For Shamrock, “The Problem Child” could beat Tyson but it’s not what everybody wants to see.
That said, “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” doesn’t think Paul should win because the boxing world would feel so bad for the “Iron Mike,” ultimately making the fight a “disappointment” in the sport.
“Here’s what I say because like I said, I think what Jake Paul and them guys are doing is brilliant, I really do. I think them never fighting a contender but making more money than any world championship fight is brilliant. I mean it’s brilliant but this one’s not good. Because Jake Paul can’t win,” Shamrock said.
“[If Paul] wins, there’s a huge bad taste in the world of boxing. It’s a disappointment to an organization that has loved Mike Tyson. It is like the death of somebody and it should be victorious for Jake Paul and I think on that small group of people that are following, yes, but, in that whole atmosphere of boxing, it’s gonna feel like somebody died,” he added.
Ken explained how Tyson could win
The way Shamrock sees it, Tyson still has the power in his hands to knock Paul out. However, if the 58-year-old couldn’t land one early, then “The Problem Child” would dominate him.
“Mike Tyson is not his best, he is not what he used to be, not even half of what he used to be so I’m not betting on it because I know Mike could beat him at half his best because he was that good and he’s got that much power still but the problem remains is whether or not Mike can last long enough to be able to land a punch because if he doesn’t, Jake Paul’s going to beat him because Jake Paul’s a good boxer,” Shamrock speculated.
“That’s what I don’t wanna see… And it’s not cause I don’t like Jake Paul, it’s because I love Mike Tyson, I do. I think everything he’s done for boxing and what he’s done in his career, he doesn’t need this,” he added.

Paul vs. Tyson is set to take place on November 15 at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas and will be streamed live on Netflix. Contrary to what Shamrock thinks, Tyson is confident that he would be at his best form come fight night.
