Keep in mind the remaining Strikeforce: Grand Prix prelims will air live on HDNet

What superlatives do the kids use these days? At the age of 25 I already feel like a sociolinguistic incompetent, struggling to stay afloat aboard nomenclature in the putrid meme infested waters that social media perpetuates, all the while trying to stay vernacularly relevant enough for people to retweet me so I can feel popular. For example, do people still say ‘awesome?’ I say it all the time but sometimes when I say it, I see that scene from Clueless flash up in front of my eyes, the one with the skateboarders walking along with Mott the Hoople playing in the background and I remember that it was cool to say ‘awesome’ back then, so maybe its frowned upon now? Is it even cool to say ‘cool’ any more? If anyone can help me with this quandary, I’d really appreciate it.

While I wait for feedback on this matter I’ll speak as if I never asked, in this instance about how Strikeforce and HDNet are teaming up to bring you loyal but oft times utterly deranged MMA fans the preliminary fights from both remaining Strikeforce Grand Prix cards. On top of that, Inside MMA will broadcast live from the weigh-ins. How cool is that? The first batch of prelims to be shown on HDNet will be from the semi final card on September 10th, starting at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Not only do you get to see Amanda Nunes vs Alexis Davis and Cyborg Santos vs Jordan Mein, but the Strikeforce debuts of Yoel Romero and ‘Pezao’ Marcos Rogerio de Lima.

Although only 4-0 in MMA, Romero won silver for Cuba in the 2000 Olympic Games and has already made two men retire in the ring, which is easily better than saying you knocked someone out. He will fight the former Strikeforce MW champion ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante but after that, if your eyes haven’t blown up at the sheer awesomeness of this under-card you can check out Mike Kyle welcoming Pezao to Strikeforce. As both fighters have collected the majority of their wins by some form of pugilistic consciousness removal, I’d happily place a back room bet with LayzieTheSavage that this fight won’t go to a decision.

I was already stoked about seeing Maxi Blanco fight on this card but now that all prelims will be aired live I don’t care if I sound like a Z-Boy or an X-Games fanatic. This is so dope.
