Katsunori Kikuno will fight just in time for Halloween

From this moment on, Kikuno will defeat your favorite lightweight fighter. Today, I dare anyone to prove me wrong on that statement. On October 24th at the JCB Hall in Tokyo, Japan, there’s a chance that statement may be untrue. DEEP executives announced that current lightweight champion, Katsonori Kikuno, will bang against Nobuhiro Obiya at Deep 50 later this month.

If you’re not familiar with Kikuno, we suggest you watch Saw I-VI and take a really good look at that jigsaw porcelain doll. I’m pretty sure they’re related. Katsunori Kikuno has the undisputed creepiest smile in MMA. They say if life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If DEEP gives you Katsunori Kikuno — just run the other way at your earliest convenience. In his Dream 10 fight against Andre Amade, dude came out to ‘We are the world’. Kikuno is on a different level. Kikuno is on a level that I never want to visit. If I ever accidentally found myself on Kikuno’s level, I would hail the nearest taxi and get the hell out of there as soon as possible.

Let’s get back to that whole Saw/Kikuno parallel that was pointed our earlier since we’re just days away from Halloween. If you’ve never seen Kikuno inside the cage before, think along the lines of that jigsaw doll from the movie Saw but only well-versed in Koyokushin Karate. You could replace the Saw doll with Katsunori Kikuno and no one would ever know. Maybe the directors of Saw tried to recreate Katsunori Kikuno and the best they could do was that jigsaw thing.

HDNet may air the event live, however it’s all dependent on the amount of times you bug Andrew Simon, the CEO of HDNet, about the event. Go ahead, it’s all up to you. [Source]
