Usman Slams Covington For Fumbling Post-Fight Interview
Colby Covington is pretty clearly the number one contender for the next shot at Kamaru Usman. These two have consistently gone back and forth, and this continued immediately after Colby’s recent win.
Covington solidified his shot to get UFC Welterweight gold by dominating a very tough Robbie Lawler. Following his unanimous decision victory, he delivered a hard-hitting post fight interview in the cage. Here, he made reference to Robbie’s friend Matt Hughes, while calling for a fight with Usman.
Unfortunately, while trying to deliver the message about fighting in Madison Square Garden, Covington stumbled over his words. Subsequently, Usman took this opportunity to mock his foe, Covington. Therefore, he took to social media to mock Colby, using Covington’s own “Make America Great Again” shtick that he took from Donald Trump.

“Let’s make English great again“
This is a solid burn from Kamaru Usman, giving Colby a dose of his own medicine. Covington is known to stumble and fumble over his words, similar to a Tito Ortiz type of trash talk. However Covington takes things a step further, with his MAGA persona, and general dislike-able attitude.
Nevertheless, it seems certain that there will continue to be trash talking all the way through the buildup of this fight. Usman and Covington have bad blood, stemming back to a physical incident at a buffet. These two have a general disdain for each other, and this will be apparent when they do finally face off.
