Kaik Brito made his second trip to Dana White’s Contender Series count with one clean right hand.
Brito knocked out Namo Fazil 12 seconds into Round 3 of Tuesday’s DWCS Season 10, Week 2 main event at Meta APEX in Las Vegas. UFC’s official results listed the finish as a knockout by punch at 0:12 of the third round, and Brito was one of six fighters who received UFC contracts after the card.
The result moved Brito, a former OKTAGON welterweight champion, back onto the UFC track after he lost a decision to Oban Elliott on Contender Series in 2023. Fazil entered the main event as a notable welterweight name after competing on the MVP MMA: Rousey vs. Carano undercard, but he could not survive the opening exchange of the final round.
The first two rounds gave both fighters momentum. Brito worked faster at range early, mixed in calf kicks, and added a takedown when Fazil kept pressing forward. Fazil answered by dragging the fight into heavier exchanges in Round 2, where his pressure started to make Brito’s striking look less tidy.
Brito Ends The Fight Before Round 3 Can Settle
Fazil landed a right hand moments after the final round started and pushed Brito toward the fence. Brito immediately fired back as Fazil closed distance, landing the right hand that dropped Fazil cold and ended the fight before the round had time to develop.
The timing mattered as much as the impact. Brito looked like he was being forced into a harder fight after two competitive rounds, then flipped the entire night with one counter while his opponent was moving forward.
UFC’s result page said Dana White welcomed Brito, Trent Miller, Cristian Perez, Alik Lorenz, Roman Gabriel Puga, and Taner Trembley to the UFC after the event. That made Brito’s finish the headline moment from an unusually contract-heavy Contender Series card.
For Brito, the knockout turns a second DWCS opportunity into a roster spot. It also adds another current result to a busy stretch of MiddleEasy results coverage, with the UFC continuing to build its next wave across the UFC schedule and the broader MMA news cycle.
