- Justin Gaethje is open to training FBI agents in combat sports
- “The Highlight” badly wants to regain his confidence at UFC 313
Justin Gaethje is in favor of FBI Director Kash Patel’s idea and is down to take part in training FBI agents in combat sports.
Gaethje likes doing good for his country
Speaking to TMZ Sports, “The Highlight” was asked about his thoughts on the FBI Director wanting to have his agents trained by UFC fighters. For Gaethje, it’s not only a great proposal but also an opportunity for proud American fighters like him to do good for the country.
“I don’t know, I think there’s much more skilled people, but I’ve got no kids, no wife, so if he needs somebody to go out there and serve some justice, I would love to be a part of that team,” Gaethje said.
“I think if they’re [FBI agents] in a hand to hand combat situation and sh*t has gone wrong,” he explained. “These guys have guns and they shoot pretty damn good. That’s the first option, but obviously if you’re clearing houses and sh*t you’re going to run into some situations like that. I mean, I would love to be part of, any part of that. I love representing this country. I can’t wait to fly this flag walking to the Octagon. It’s been a while since I’ve been proud to be an American and we’re back there. I’m excited to represent this country and anytime anybody at that position needs my help I’m more than willing.”

Gaethje wants redemption
Gaethje also talked about his mindset heading into his rematch with Rafael Fiziev at UFC 313. According to “The Highlight,” the adjustment in training camp after his original opponent, Dan Hooker pulled out wasn’t a big deal. Instead, he is focused on trying to get back to his old self.
“I had two days of working out with no opponent but you know again, coming off of a loss like I just had. it’s been a mindset of me against me you know, coming in there and really trying to believe in myself and gain that confidence back. That’s been the biggest, biggest challenge but you know I just got to go back and remember who I am,” he opened up.
Gaethje will take on Fiziev in the co-main event of UFC 313 this weekend. He will try to bounce back after suffering one of the most devastating losses of his career at the hands of Max Holloway at UFC 300.
